SPCA Wellington is an animal welfare charity consisting of two animals shelters. These are located in Newtown and Kapiti. Lost, injured, neglected and unwanted animals are treated and re-homed from the Newtown and Kapiti shelters.
World Wildife Fund (WWF) NZ WWF-New Zealand with the help of the Tindall Foundation, supports groups around the country who are taking action for their environment through habitat protection projects. They have a list of some of those projects on their website.
WSPA (New Zealand) (http://www.worldanimalprotection.org.au/): works with hundreds of member societies worldwide to raise the standard of international animal welfare. Their vision is a world where animal welfare matters and animal cruelty ends. They expose animal abuse and enforcing stronger laws. WSPA’s Animal Rescue Teams work to save abandoned or neglected animals or those stricken by disasters.
